Ever wondered what you’re actually supposed to be doing in a yoga pose? This summer, we’re breaking it down.
Yoga Pose Basics is an 8-week series running through June and July, with each class dedicated to one family of poses — standing, balance, hip openers, seated, twists, backbends, and more. We’ll look at what each pose is doing for your body, how to find it safely, and what to do when it just doesn’t feel right.
Wednesdays beginning June 3, 4:30-5:30pm
This series is for you if:
— You’re newer to yoga and want a solid foundation before jumping into a regular class
— You’ve been practicing for a while but want to refine your practice
— You’ve ever left class thinking “I have no idea if I did that right”
— You’re working around an injury or limitation and want to learn smart modifications
No experience necessary. No flexibility required. Just curiosity and a willingness to learn the basics.

Yin Yoga returns to KARMA this June and July, every Monday at 4:00 PM. And if you’ve never tried yoga before — or tried it once and thought that was too fast, too hard, too much — this class was made for you.
Yin is the opposite of hustle. Poses are held gently, for longer, close to the floor. No flow. No pressure. No keeping up. Just you, your breath, and a little stillness in the middle of a busy week.
Here’s what you can expect:
* Long, supported holds that release deep tension in the hips, low back, and shoulders
* Calm, guided breathing — no experience needed
* A pace that actually lets you feel something shift
You don’t need to be flexible. You don’t need special yoga clothes or even a mat (we have those). You just need to show up. Wear something cozy and comfy – we’ll do the rest.

Breathe, move, and rest your way back to yourself. This immersive workshop weaves together pranayama, purposeful movement, and deep recovery into one grounded afternoon.
Each element includes a brief lecture and presentation to give you the background and context to understand not just what you’re doing — but why it works.
You’ll use breathwork to arrive fully present, flow through asana sequences designed for strength and longevity, and close with restorative rest practices that let it all settle in.
Expect lively discussion, hands-on activities, and healthy refreshments to keep you nourished throughout. A complete experience — from your first breath through savasana.

Candlelight Full Moon Yoga: The Strawberry Moon
The Strawberry Moon’s Significance:
This is the first full moon of the Summer! The Strawberry Moon marks the ripening of ‘June bearing’ strawberries ready to be gathered.
Experience Level:
While new students are welcome, some prior yoga experience is recommended to help you flow comfortably through the moon salutations and celestial sequences. If you’re familiar with basic poses and sun salutations, you’ll feel right at home!

What sustains you when you step away from your mat?
This workshop draws from Ayurvedic nutrition wisdom, the ethical framework of the Yamas and Niyamas, and reflective practice to help you design a life that truly supports your wellbeing.
Each topic is introduced through a short lecture and presentation, grounding the discussion in tradition while making it relevant to modern daily life.

This is not a couple’s therapy retreat, and it’s not a vacation with a yoga class added on.It’s five days in Costa Rica for couples who are already in a good place — and want to build on something that holds up over time. If you both want this, you’re physically active and mobile, and you’re curious about how breath, the nervous system, and the body shape your ability to show up authentically for another person — this retreat is designed for you.
If your relationship is in real crisis, this isn’t the right fit — if one of you is dragging the other, it won’t work, and neither of you will enjoy the week. We want to be honest and up front about that – before you register.
This retreat is for couples coming in solid and want to leave with an actual set of skills — breath work, hands-on bodywork techniques you’ll take home and use, honest communication tools — all built around one idea: taking responsibility for your own presence before asking anything of your partner. The days have real structure, and the work is real but intentionally not ‘deep’. And plenty of free time built into the schedule to allow for you both to ‘Disconnect to Reconnect’.
Simply put, structured and relationship focused time most couples haven’t had in years in someplace extraordinary.
